Cracking the code to magazines on tablets

October 24, 2011

This data-point is in-line with what else I’m hearing in the publication market, which is that the re-designed tablet magazine isn’t taking off. Once the novelty wears off, consumers quickly tire of the format. Magazines have been doing much better in providing a simple PDF version on a tablet.

Consumers seem to like it better, and it is cheaper/easier for the publisher to create.

I’m glad there is a lot of great experimentation out there, but it seems so far no one has cracked the code for tablet magazines
